Bryce Canyon

Bryce Canyon, famous for its unique geology, consists of a series of horseshoe-shaped amphitheaters carved from the eastern edge of the Paunsaugunt Plateau in southern Utah. The erosional force of frost-wedging and the dissolving power of rainwater have shaped the colorful limestone rock of the Claron Formation into bizarre shapes including slot canyons, windows, fins, and spires called “hoodoos.”

Zion National Park

Massive canyon walls ascend toward a brilliant blue sky. To experience Zion, you need to walk among the towering cliffs, or challenge your courage in a small narrow canyon. These unique sandstone cliffs range in color from cream, to pink, to red. They could be described as sand castles crowning desert canyons.

Cedar Breaks National Monument

A natural amphitheater etched out of the Pink Cliffs on Highway 143. This canyon of fins, spires and columns, covers three miles and is over 2,000 feet deep. The rim of the canyon is over 10,000 feet above sea level with several lookout points. There are also a few short hikes along the rim with views of Cedar Breaks.

Grand Staircase National Monument

Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument encompasses a large area of high desert and remote canyons. It has some great scenic drives and challenging hiking opportunities.

Panguitch Lake

Panguitch Lake is a natural 1,250 acre lake located 20 miles southwest of Panguitch on Highway 143. Panguitch means “Big Fish” in the language of the Paiute Indians. There are two public boat ramps and a fish cleaning station. Boats and fishing tackle are available for rent.
